THE DRIVEN SHOOT
We arrange the best and most famous drives in the country. It is normal to find groups of 6 to 12 hunters on these hunts and they usually shoot between approximately 700 and 800 birds per day.
GSH is known throughout the world for its marvellous driven partridge shoots, which have been described as "the best there are" by some of the best guns in the world, who come back year after year to enjoy our hunts, thereby recognising the work of the Corsini Family season after season for the last 25 years.
GSH holds the hunting rights in some of the best estates in the country, such as ¨ La Flamenca ¨ which is world famous, and many others such as ¨ Casasola ¨, ¨ Tacones ¨ etc, which surpass the expectations of any hunter who decides to hunt partridge in Spain.
THE RED LEGGED PARTRIDGE
The Spanish red legged partridge is considered by many as the most sporty bird in the world. It is a beautiful bird with the morphological characteristics to make it a fast flying and changing species. The speed and height of the red legged partridge depend to a large extent on the characteristics of the terrain and the direction of the wind. With GSH we guarantee the most beautiful and sporting driven shoots that you could find in Spain.
Every year thousands of hunters travel from far and wide to enjoy the challenge of shooting red legged partridge in Spain.
Normally there are four shoots per day, with a daily average of between 600 and 700 partridges.
It is a purely Spanish style of hunting with a long and deeply rooted tradition, which allows the hunter to enjoy the red legged partridge in a far more challenging way, given that the speed and height reached are unbeatable, putting more than one expert wing shooter to the test.
The beaters move the partridges from a distance of a couple of kilometres away, pushing them towards the shooters who await in their positions.
The positions are designated by raffle or ¨Tomelot¨ which will decide the initial post of each participant in the first driven shoot. These will then be rotated, thereby offering each hunter equal opportunities to occupy the centre of the shoot as well as the edges or "Puntas". In this way, during the shoot the hunters will also change positions and neighbours on both the right and the left hand sides.
In his post, the hunter will have the help of a Loader and a Picker Up, which are essential as due to the amount, speed and height of the birds, the shooter will be unable to do anything apart from shoot non-stop. He will not be able to see where his birds fall nor reload his rifles.
At the end of each shoot cold drinks, wine, etc., will be served in the countryside together with small snacks or aperitifs. And between the 3rd and the 4th shoot, the "Taco" or small meal will be served, helping our hunters to recover their strength. All of this will be of the utmost quality.
At the end of the hunt an excellent meal will be served, accompanied by our famous Spanish wines. Depending on the weather, the meal will be taken either outdoors in the countryside or in the house of the estate.
